Does this program really stop worms, trojans, backdoors, spyware, adware, macro viruses and other malware ?

Yes, if Principal AntiVirus is active you can safely open any file or attachment as Principal AntiVirus will block it before it does harm to your computer.

Does this program only stop viruses and other malware ?

By default Principal AntiVirus only stops programs which are likely to be a virus or other malware. However it can  be configured to stop any program which does something dangerous. This will give you maximum protection,  not only against viruses and malware but also against legitimate programs that may not behave the way you want them to  such as adware. It will also give you a good insight on what is happening on your computer.

Is this program able to identify viruses and malware ?

No, Principal Antivirus does not recognize any viruses or malware. It is offering you  immunity by recognizing threats and stopping them before they become active.

My computer is infected with a virus, should I install Principal AntiVirus now ?

Although Principal AntiVirus will be able to stop the virus running in your computer, irreversible damage may have already happened.  The safest approach is to reinstall Windows by booting from an installation CD and selecting to format  the installation partition during setup. Best practice is Principal AntiVirus by installing and enabling  it before running any dangerous program. Installing and running Principal AntiVirus on an already infected machine  is tricky and is not guaranteed to work in all cases.

Can I run Principal AntiVirus together with other antivirus software ?

Yes you can, however there is generally no need to as you are already protected. Note that most  antivirus software is principally slowing down your computer. However if you wish to know if infected files  are residing on your computer, Principal AntiVirus cannot help you as it only protects against programs which are running.

Can I use this program to see if there are any viruses on my hard drives ?

No, this is not a virus scanner. Instead it protects you against viruses which  are running in a proactive manner.

Why is this program safer than other antivirus programs ?

Principal Antivirus gives you principal protection against any type of virus or malicious program.  It protects against future viruses as well as older ones. Other antivirus programs generally give you only protection  against currently known viruses and therefore require you to update the software often.

Why is this program faster than other antivirus programs ?

This program remains in an efficient dormant state which uses no CPU cycles and only comes  into action when a dangerous event is triggered. Other virus programs instead continuously  scan your incoming and outgoing network and disk traffic and have to test it against a large list of known virus  signatures or footprints.

Do all these safety guards really not slow down my computer ?

Principal Antivirus only protects your computer against programs which are not trusted. This means  that trusted program will be allowed to run freely on your computer without the need of being checked by Principal Antivirus.  Then, the performance overhead for programs which are not trusted is really very low compared to other antivirus  software.

Yes it does, Principal Antivirus stops any virus, no matter where it came from.

Does this work like a firewall also ?

Principal AntiVirus offers some very basic firewall functionality in that it stops programs before they connect to the internet.  However it does not offer the functionality typically found in firewall software such as allowing you to block  network traffic based on port numbers and IP addresses. You could think of Principal AntiVirus as a firewall against  any possible software threat instead of network only.

Does this program also stop the spam in my email inbox ?

No, Principal Antivirus does not stop spam. It is only designed to stop threats from attacking your computer. However by  making sure your computer does not get infected by any virus or malware, you make sure your computer will not become the victim  of a hacker who uses your computer as a remotely controlled spam system. Also, it will protect your  computer against viruses and malware that get sent to you by email.

Does this program stop joke threats ?

This program is not able to stop innocent joke software if it does not create damage to your computer.  The rule that applies here is that the more dangerous a program behaves, the more likely it is that that Principal Antivirus will stop it.

Does this program run on Windows 95, 98, ME ?

No Principal Antivirus works only on Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Windows 2000.
